This is a brilliant learning tool for random facts aimed at kids, but as usual with kids books the way they are presented in bite sized chunks makes the info very easy to remember for any reader.
Way too many to list here but suffice it to say this was crammed full of gloriously gruesome and ghoulish bits and bobs to satisfy the most macabre child (or adult.)
Enhanced throughout with monochrome illustrations of monsters etc all adding a fun edge to the overall layout.
Topics covered included facts

Fantastic and entertaining, I really whizzed through this and I know the kids in the family who have learning issues found this easily digestible and a great read.

Which of Henry VIII's infamous wives had a third nipple (and 12 fingers)? How many pubes are fished out of the Thames each year? All of your horribly, grotesque curiosities shall be answered here in "1,001 Horrible Facts". While I admittedly have a hard enough time stomaching red meat on many a day, "Horrible Foods" was a seriously difficult category of information to stomach. No dog or guinea pig for me, thanks! What a truly wretched addition to any (young or old) trivia-phile's collection! (As Which of Henry VIII's infamous wives had a third nipple (and 12 fingers)? Recommends it for: older kids, and anyone interested in gross stuff.
I bought this book because it was in the children's section at the book store and I thought my class (particularly my male students) would get a kick out of it. When I brought it home and gave it a good read I realized that there is some inappropriate stuff for a third grade classroom. I read some facts to the class aloud one day to motivate a lesson, but this book was never aloud in their hands and now rests peacefully on my bookshelf at home. This book is suppose to have 1001 Horrible Facts. There are 1001 facts, that's for sure. There is an introduction that says be prepared to have your stomach get queasy and to have a bag near by in case you need to throw up, because this book has such 'gross' facts. Well my stomach was never queasy. None of them made me uncomfortable, and for goodness sake, none were gross...ok, for some people they may have. If you're looking for a fact book, this is one of the many you can find.
Trust me, these

Trust me, these are not gross...unless you have a very weak stomach, or are a wimp.
